Chiropractic Adjustments At Ymr

At ymr, we are committed to providing personalised and effective chiropractic care for our patients. We treat a broad range of ailments, from chronic pain (including back pain and neck pain) to acute sports injuries, from headaches and migraines to plantar fasciitis and heel pain.

Because each and every patient’s medical condition and needs are unique, a patient-centred approach to health care is essential (A Patient-Centred Approach To Chiropractic Healthcare). At ymr, we aim to optimise health and wellness through personalised chiropractic adjustments.

To meet the diverse needs of our patients, we offer a range of chiropractic techniques, from traditional methods like the Diversified Technique, Mc Timoney and specialised brain based technique.

In this article, we describe the various chiropractic techniques employed at ymr, highlighting how each method contributes to holistic patient care.

Chiropractic Techniques Available At Ymr

Zone Technique

The zone technique was created by Dr. Pete Goldman in 2002. He started learning Dr. Thurman Fleets zone therapy in the 1990s, from several of his disciples. Pete then refined what he had been taught to create the zone technique.

In the 1930’s Dr. fleet taught that the six main systems of the body are regulated by specific centers in the brain, functioning as the positive pole of the body, with corresponding points in the spinal cord acting as the negative pole.

Disruptions in these centers, caused by emotional, physical, or chemical stress, lead to a loss of normal function.  corresponding

The zone chiropractor examines the patient to determine which of the brain centers are not in harmony with the systems they control. This is done by pressing specific points on the patient’s head. These points are related to the six brain centers by nerve connections.

When a brain center is not sending the proper signals to its system, all body functions associated with that system suffer. To correct this the “doctor” stimulates specific points in the spinal cord.

The six zones (the glandular, eliminative, nervous, digestive, muscular, and circulatory zones).

The Zone Technique is highly effective at restoring balance within the body, leading to improved function to the whole body. It is particularly effective for those who suffer from chronic symptoms and have tried various other forms of treatment.

Diversified Chiropractic Technique

The Diversified Technique is a classic chiropractic method involving manual adjustment of the spine. The aim of this commonly used technique is to restore proper function and movement.

During treatment, a high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) thrust is applied to correct mechanical restrictions within the vertebrae and joints. This often causes an audible release of gas from the spinal joints as they are adjusted (the “pop”).

The Diversified Technique is used to enhance joint mobility, relieve pain, and improve the body’s physical function. It is particularly effective in treating restrictions of the spine and joint dysfunction.

McTimoney Method Chiropractic

The McTimoney Method is underpinned by four key concepts: A whole-body approach; Gentle adjustments; Subtle corrections; and Holistic health.

This technique involves gentle, targeted adjustments that are designed to alleviate pain and discomfort. These adjustments also support overall health and optimal functioning of the nervous system.

The gentle nature of this technique makes it suitable for a wide range of patients, especially those who require a gentler approach to spinal and joint adjustments (e.g., elderly patients, children and infants, pregnant women, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis sufferers, patients with fibromyalgia or chronic pain).

The McTimoney chiropractic technique is particularly effective in correcting restrictions and balancing the overall body structure. These changes help to improve nervous system function and promote health and well-being.

Craniosacral Therapy Technique

The Craniosacral Therapy Technique involves subtle adjustments of the skull bones (cranium), spinal column, and sacrum (the triangular bone in the lower back) that restore cranial mobility, release restrictions in the head and neck, and restore proper nerve function.

These gentle adjustments also revive the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system, removing any blockages.

Together, these changes help to relieve tension and promote a deep sense of relaxation and healing.

Cranial sacral therapy can be used for people of all ages. This technique can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including migraines, chronic neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, and stress-related disorders.

Activator Chiropractic Technique

The Activator Chiropractic Technique uses a small hand-held instrument to deliver a gentle impulse force to the spine and extremities. It offers a gentle, precise, and controlled approach to spinal adjustment.

At ymr, the Activator Technique is a key component of our treatment capabilities. It is particularly useful for treating specific areas that are difficult to adjust manually.

The Activator Chiropractic Technique is well-suited to patients who are nervous about manual adjustments. This versatile technique is also the treatment of choice for vulnerable patients, including the elderly, and those with arthritis.

Pregnancy & Paediatrics

Chiropractic care can also be beneficial for expectant mothers and young children. At ymr, we provide specialised care that supports the health and development of both mother and child.

During pregnancy, chiropractic adjustments can help manage pain in the back, hips, and joints, while also ensuring that the pelvis is properly aligned for childbirth.

In addition, we provide treatments and advice for new mums suffering from upper back and neck pain during breastfeeding (Tips For Avoiding Back Pain During Breastfeeding).

Paediatric chiropractic involves gentle techniques that can improve sleep, behaviour, and immune system function, and they can also address issues like colic and ear infections.

Chiropractic Techniques Tailored To Individual Needs

At ymr, we understand that the needs of each patient are unique, and we believe that their treatment should be too. The chiropractic techniques ultimately applied are carefully selected and tailored to meet the specific health requirements of each individual.

By integrating different methods, we strive to provide comprehensive care that addresses specific health issues and promotes overall wellness and quality of life.
